New to Horizon?

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT?

Thinking about coming to Horizon for the first time? Here are a few things that you can expect from us.

As you arrive at Horizon Christian Fellowship for one of our services, you may notice that our building doesn’t appear as much like a “traditional” church as one might expect. Located in a renovated nineteenth century mill building in the heart of downtown Fitchburg, our building and location set us apart as anything but traditional.

Underneath the exterior, we enjoy a very casual and contemporary atmosphere that invites you to “come as you are.” Whatever your background, you are invited to come and worship with us at one of our several service times. Many find our contemporary style of worship to be inspirational and uplifting as we worship Him together. Don’t expect to be hit up for money, as we don’t take an offering. We instead allow church members to give their offering as they feel led in “agape” boxes in the back of the sanctuary.

Following the teaching style of Calvary Chapel, Pastor George leads us verse by verse through the Bible on Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights in a very down to earth and easy to understand manner. Calvary Chapel’s motto is “simply teaching the Bible simply,” and that’s what we strive for. We are currently studying through the entire Bible in five years.

Spiritual growth happens best in community, and that’s why we strive to make opportunities for fellowship that help get you plugged in to the body of Christ. On Sunday mornings before and after service you’re invited to join the many gathered together in the fellowship hall for coffee, food, and conversation. During the week, FOCUS Groups and Men’s and Women’s Studies provide you the opportunity to get to know others on a more personal level as we grow in the Lord together.

We believe that children should be ministered to and taught at their own level and raised up and discipled to be true men and women of God. Because of this, we offer various children’s ministry programs that take place throughout the week that seek to minister to your children in a safe and friendly environment. On Sunday mornings, we offer children’s ministry and Sunday Cool for all children under the age of 12, and on Wednesday nights we have AWANA clubs for children and InsideOut Youth Group for teenagers.
