Our mission is simply the Great Commission that Jesus gave the church. We understand that this is the work of evangelism with the responsibility to: 

Win - a person to Jesus Christ

“And He said to them, ‘Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.’” – Mark 16:15

DISCIPLE - a person in Jesus Christ

“Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” – Matthew 28:19-20

SEND - a person for Jesus Christ

“…and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” – Acts 1:8 Translated for our church in our time, this would mean: Jerusalem | our local community which is our church and the area of Fitchburg Judea | New England Samaria – The United States To the ends of the earth || any where in the world

Our mission is simply to do what Jesus has told us to do. In following the Great Commission, we seek to see Him glorified in our lives, church, and community as we allow Him to use us to reach the world around us.

What We Believe

Horizon Christian Fellowship of Fitchburg is an affiliate of Horizon Christian Fellowship of San Diego, CA and also an affiliate of Calvary Chapel which has hundreds of affiliate churches around the world.

Calvary Chapel has been formed as a fellowship of believers in the Lordship of Jesus Christ. Our supreme desire is to know Christ and be conformed to His image by the power of the Holy Spirit.

  • We are not a denominational church, nor are we opposed to denominations as such, only their over-emphasis of the doctrinal differences that have led to the division of the Body of Christ.
  • We believe that the only true basis of Christian fellowship is His (Agape) love, which is greater than any differences we possess and without which we have no right to claim ourselves Christians.
  • We believe worship of God should be spiritual. Therefore, we remain flexible and yielded to the leading of the Holy Spirit to direct our worship.
  • We believe worship of God should be inspirational. Therefore, we give a great place to music in our worship.
  • We believe worship of God should be intelligent. Therefore, our services are designed with great emphasis upon teaching the Word of God that He might instruct us how He should be worshiped.
  • We believe worship of God is fruitful. Therefore, we look for His love in our lives as the supreme manifestation that we have truly been worshiping Him.
