Reading for today: 2 Chronicles 27:1-9 and Philippians 2:22-24
“But you know his proven character, that as a son with his father he served with me in the gospel.” Philippians 2:22
Before we are able to effectively help others in their spiritual growth, we should be solidly grounded in our own faith, and our love for the Word of God. Does that mean we should wait until we “have it all together” to help others? No, far from it! But notice how Paul speaks of Timothy: he had a proven character, and had served faithfully with Paul for a while, so that now Paul knew he could count on Timothy to build up the Philippian church.

I hope and pray that I can someday disciple others as well as these ladies have discipled me. Who knows… Maybe the Lord wants me to be a “Timothy” in training…. His plan.. His purpose… His will… my obedience.
