Today’s reading: 1 Kings 8:54-66 and 1 Timothy 4:16
“May he bend our hearts toward him, to walk in all his ways, and to keep his commandments, and his statutes, and his judgments, which he commanded our fathers.” 1 Kings 8:58
God is all knowing, all seeing – past, present and future. Let us remember as we pray and grow in the knowledge of God that all things will conform to His Word. We must conform our perspective to His Word, keep His commandments, and obey His statutes and trust His judgments.

Today’s reading: 1 Kings 8:1-13 and 1 Timothy 4:14
“Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery.” 1 Timothy 4:14
Each of us has been given a gift that should be cultivated. Remembering that the gift we were given was given freely by our Heavenly Father. Use your gift to lead others to Christ, hence building up the Kingdom of our Heavenly Father.

Today’s reading: 1 Kings 7:23-51 and 1 Timothy 4:13
“Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine.” 1 Timothy 4:13
We should search the Word daily as well as giving praise and worship to our Lord. James 3:13 says, “Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? Let him show out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom.” Listen carefully to others, taking the time to understand and give them wise Christian counsel as one living a consistent life that reflects good conduct, and moral values.

Today’s reading: 1 Kings 7:1-22 and 1 Timothy 4:12
“Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.” 1 Timothy 4:12
As Christians and true believers we are living examples for unbelievers. As it says in Titus 2:7, “In all things showing thyself a pattern of good works; in doctrine showing incorruptness, gravity, sincerity,” our counsel to others should be that they see us walk-the-walk and talk-the-talk, living an upright Christian life that shows integrity, compassion, and sincerity, and love for all mankind. Remember, others are always watching!

Today’s reading: 1 Kings 6:1-38 and 1 Timothy 4:11
“In the eleventh year, eighth month, the house was finished throughout according to all its specifications. So he was seven years in building it.” 1 Kings 6:38
Chapter 6 describes the beauty and majesty of the temple Solomon built for God. It became a wonder of the then-known world. When people saw it, they were struck by its splendor. Solomon wanted the greatness of the building to remind people of thegreatness of God. Today, you are God’s temple. He doesn’t live in a building; he lives in you (1 Cor. 6:19). Lord, my life is your living temple. Let it reflect your beauty and majesty.

Today’s reading: 1 Kings 5:1-18 and 1 Timothy 4:9-10
“King Solomon forced 30,000 men from all over Israel to work for him. He sent a shift of 10,000 men to Lebanon for a month. They would spend 1 month in Lebanon and 2 months at home.” 1 Kings 5:13-14
Work is one responsibility that no family can avoid. Though you may not always enjoy working, jobs bring opportunities and benefits you can’t live without: money, food shelter. King Solomon sought to help Israel balance their lives between the demands of work and home. He put a schedule together so they weren’t away from families too long. Are you keeping the balance between working and spending time with those you love? If not, take time to reevaluate how your job adds to or detracts from your family life.

Reading for today: 1 Kings 4:1-34 and 1 Timothy 4:8
“And God gave Solomon wisdom and exceedingly great understanding, and largeness of heart like the sand on the seashore.” 1 Kings 4:29
God’s spiritual gift to Solomon was wisdom. What are your spiritual gifts? Do you use them any chance you get to glorify God? Help others, give willingly, teach children’s church, and sing to the heavens, all to glorify Him, the giver of these gifts.

Reading for today: 1 Kings 3:16-28 and 1 Timothy 4:7
“But reject profane and old wives’ fables, and exercise yourself toward godliness.”
1 Timothy 4:7
It’s so easy to get caught up in worldly TV shows, office gossip and speculation. Where is God in any of this? Turn yourself away from these things and turn you face toward God. Try to show yourself as an example of someone who walks with the Lord.

Reading for today: 1 Kings 3:1-15 and 1 Timothy 4:6
“So if you walk in My ways, to keep My statutes and My commandments, as your father
David walked, then I will lengthen your days.” 1 Kings 3:14
God promises that if we walk in His ways, we will not receive a long life, but eternal life, to be spent in joyful worship to Him.
