Reading for today: 2 Samuel 12:16-23 and 1 Timothy 2:6
“But now that he is dead; why should I fast? Can I bring him back again? I will go to him, but he will not return to me.” 2 Samuel 12:23
This verse in the Bible is one of comfort regarding death and life after death. David makes it very plain that he was unable to raise his child from the dead. There is only one who can raise the dead, God. David also acknowledged that he would one day go to be with his son. If we are believers in Jesus, we too will go to be with God when it is our time.

As a mom these verses can be difficult to read but I can’t be tempted to doubt God’s faithfulness and unending love toward me or my children. He created them and gave them life. That’s one thing I can’t ever forget.
The Bible says in Isaiah 55:8
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways my ways,” says the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.”
Understatement or what?
I don’t always understand what the Lord may be doing in my life or in the lives of those around me but one things for sure it’s what He sees is best. Ultimately I want what He sees is best. Because He sees EVERYTHING, the beginning and the end are His. I know He hears and listens to my prayers for my children, friends and family and the best that I could imagine for Him can’t compare to the best He has for them. Knowing one day we will all be in His Kingdom together, full of joy and praising Him together, what a hope filled thought! No, not thought, certainty!
“Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”
-Roman 15:13
In Jesus name. Amen.
