I'm meditating on Rom 6:14 - "For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace."

This is saying that under the law, sin has dominion. When you have a bunch of rights and wrongs to follow, sin is prevalent? Sin is highlighted? Why does being under grace remove the dominion. the rulership of sin?

I'm having a hard time understanding, internalizing this. Is it because I'm no longer focusing on the rights and wrongs to find out if I've missed the mark?

I think it's about that newness of life - a walk that focuses on a relationship with Jesus and not on your rights and wrongs. When you look at rights and wrongs, your sin is obvious and glaring... and it's what you are looking at.

I think it is telling me to focus on the relationship - that's what you "do" when under grace, rather than measuring your sin against the law.
