Reading for today: Joshua 1:10-15, Hebrews 2:10-13
“Remember the word which Moses the servant of the LORD commanded you, saying, ‘The LORD your God is giving you rest and is giving you this land.’” Joshua 1:13
Joshua is reminding the Israelites of God’s promises to Moses. God is giving them the land to inhabit and the promise of a rest. God makes promises and keeps them. We need to believe by faith and be obedient like Joshua.

Reading for today: Joshua 1:8-9, Hebrews 2:5-9
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9
This is one scripture we should commit to memory. When we are afraid, stressed, and worried, we need to remember that God is with us always. When we are distraught and find ourselves looking down, we need to remember to look up.

Reading for today: Joshua 1:6-7, Hebrews 2:1-4
“Therefore we must give the more earnest heed to the things we have heard, lest we drift away.” Hebrews 2:1
The writer of the book of Hebrews was encouraging these early Christians to take heed (pay attention) to the things they had heard about Christ. We have these things written down in our New Testament. We must earnestly read our Bibles because we don’t want to drift away from what God has for us. This is especially challenging in today’s culture. We are constantly bombarded with ungodly images, words and ideas.

Reading for today: Joshua 1:5, Hebrews 1:8-14
“You, LORD, in the beginning laid the foundation of the earth, And the heavens are the work of Your hands. They will perish, but You remain; And they will all grow old like a garment; Like a cloak You will fold them up, And they will be changed. But You are the same, And Your years will not fail.” Hebrews 1:10-14
This is a wonderful reminder that God was in the beginning, before everything, and He created everything. He holds all things together. One day this world will perish, but God always remains the same. We need not worry about our trials and troubles because they too will pass.

Reading for today: Joshua 1:3-4, Hebrews 1:5-7
“Every place that the sole of your foot will tread upon I have given you, as I said to Moses.” Joshua 1:3
After Moses’ death, God spoke to Joshua, Moses’ assistant. God would complete the promise He had made to Moses by using Joshua. God’s will, plans, and purposes will be completed. He uses people who will be obedient by faith. As God calls us, may we be ever faithful to obey.

Reading for today: Joshua 1:1-2, Hebrews 1:1-4
“God…has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds.” Hebrews 1:2
In the past God spoke to His people through prophets. Now God speaks to us through Christ who is Prophet, Priest and King. He is the Word of God and He speaks to us through our Bible. We must be consistently in the Word of God as He speaks into our lives.

Reading for today: Deuteronomy 34:9-12, Galatians 6:16-18
“From now on let no one trouble me…” Galatians 6:17a
If we preach and teach the truth we have no reason to be troubled by the words or deeds of men.

Reading for today: Deuteronomy 34:1-8, Galatians 6:11-15
“For not even those who are circumcised keep the law, but they desire to have you circumcised that they may boast in your flesh.” Galatians 6:13
There is only one way that we can keep the law: accepting that Christ did it for us. And when we fail through the weakness of our flesh, we rest in Christ’s fulfillment. These false teachers that kept claiming that the Galatians needed to be circumcised couldn’t keep the law themselves, but gloried when they succeeded in condemning others under the Law. In reality it was they who needed to be circumcised in their hearts.

Reading for today: Deuteronomy 33:23-39, Galatians 6:9-10
“There is no one like the God of Jeshurun, Who rides the heavens to help you, and in His excellency on the clouds.” Deuteronomy 33:26
There is nothing in Hell or Heaven that can ever stop the Lord from helping us; there are no restraints strong enough to hold Him back. The enemy shakes when the Lord comes to help us, and hides when Jesus rides to our aid. That’s so cool.

Reading for today: Deuteronomy 33:18-22, Galatians 6:6-8
“For he that sows to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that sows to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap everlasting life.” Galatians 6:8
The law of sowing and reaping is like the law of gravity; first you always reap what you sow, second you always reap later than you sow, and third you always reap more than you sow. There is no choice in what you will reap, the choice is in what you will sow. Let us choose wisely.
