Reading for today: Deuteronomy 17:1-13, 2 Corinthians 13:7-10
“Now I pray to God that you do no evil,…” 2 Corinthians 13:7
What a wonderful prayer for our saved family and friends! Paul goes on to say; not so we look good, but so they will be honorable witnesses of Christ! Outside of salvation, there is nothing better.

Reading for today: Deuteronomy 16:1-22, 2 Corinthians 13:5-6
“But I trust that you will know that we are not disqualified.” 2 Corinthians 13:6
Many times we just don’t know if we are in God’s will. We make many choices throughout the day - some of which bring grief into our lives. It is encouraging to know that as long as we continue with Christ we will not be disqualified. It is called GRACE.

Reading for today: Deuteronomy 15:12-23, 2 Corinthians 13:1-4
“And if it happens that he says to you, ‘I will not go away from you’ because he loves you and your house, since he prospers with you…” Deuteronomy 15:16
God uses real people as pictures in the Bible to show His heart. When a servant of Christ (the Master) says in his heart, I will not go away from you, God says, you (the servant) will be My servant forever!

Reading for today: Deuteronomy 15:1-11, 2 Corinthians 12:15-21
“…You shall not harden your heart nor shut your hand from your poor brother,…” Deuteronomy 15:7b
When we have gotten what God has promised, He says remember the poor. “But he could do better financially if he worked harder, why should I…” God says these thoughts are wicked., but in response to giving to the poor, “For this thing the Lord your God will bless you in all your works…” (Deut. 15:10b)

Reading for today: Deuteronomy 14:22-29, 2 Corinthians 12:14
“You shall truly tithe all the increase of your grain that the field produces year by year.” Deuteronomy 14:22
God says the reason for tithing is for us to learn to fear (be thoughtful of - remember) the Lord. It was never meant to be a dogmatic, burdensome thing. He goes on to share His heart; that if it is too difficult for you to do so, there is still a way to celebrate (because that’s what tithing is). Seek Him, and eat and drink before the Lord your God. (Deut. 14:24-26)

“You are the children of the Lord your God;…” Deuteronomy 14:1a
We have been chosen by God to be His people; He calls us “a special treasure…” Maybe we do not live by the law today, but it is always in our best interest to know what God says we cannot do. His guidelines are wholly (holy) for our benefit. Father knows best!

“…Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life.” John 6:68 “A spiritual love… will make us grieve that we have given Him so little, and could give Him no more.”

Reading for today: Deuteronomy 12:29-32, 2 Corinthians 12:7-9
“My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” 2 Corinthians 12:9
Are You sufficient for me? Do I believe that? Or do I want all my weaknesses fixed, made well - do I really want to be strong? Are You asking for my trust in what You’ve chosen for me? Does not the painter know how best to complete His own masterpiece?

Reading for today: Deuteronomy 12:1-28, 2 Corinthians 12:1-6
Focus on: Deuteronomy 12:1-28
“We cannot give Him worship unless we judge Him worthy, excellent and deserving… we cannot judge Him worthy unless we have some admirations of His infinite virtues; and cannot apprehend and admire those perfections unless we have experienced them. Then we find motive and reasons of worship. For worship must rise from the center of our soul!”

Reading for today: Deuteronomy 11:16-32, 2 Corinthians 11:29-33
“Therefore you shall lay up these words of mine in your heart and soul…” Deuteronomy 11:18
“All our thoughts ought to be ravished with God; bound up in Him as in a bundle of life; but when we start from Him to gaze after every feather, and run after every bubble, we disown a full and affecting excellency, and a satisfying sweetness in Him.” Lord, that I would be so full of You that it pours out of me - at home, in work, to everyone around me. That my life would ring true in thought and deed.
