Reading for today: Numbers 5:11-31, 1 Corinthians 15:45-49
“The first man was of the earth, made of dust; the second Man is the Lord from heaven.” 1 Corinthians 15:47
Jesus is sometimes referred to as the Second Adam, but praise God that He is first (and always) our Lord God Almighty, and not a just a human being. Even though the Son was made flesh like you and I, we are saved because He is the Living God with the power to grant salvation. No mere man, no matter how revered by men, can do for us what God has done.
1 Corinthians 15:45 calls Jesus the Last Adam rather than the second Adam, as if to emphasize that there will be no others. Jesus is the ONLY way.
