Reading for today: Exodus 14:1-14, 1 Corinthians 4:8-13
“You are already full! You are already rich!” 1 Corinthians 4:8
What more do we really need than Jesus? He is our all in all!
It struck me as I was reading the passages and devo for today that they both contain a promise that hasn’t come true yet!
Moses tells the children of Israel “Do not be afraid. Stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which He will accomplish for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall see again no more forever. The LORD will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace.”
Then Paul tells the Corinthians “You are already full! You are already rich!”
In a moment God will deliver Israel and not one word of what He has spoken will fall to the ground. So if I follow that line of thinking through, and because God is the same always….then I should walk in the fullness of Christ, rich in grace, abundant in mercy. Then why do I so often feel empty and thin in Spirit?
For me, it’s because my eyes are on what is coming at me from behind, what has happened in the past, and it deadens the voice that’s saying “Watch and see what I am going to do TODAY” Let’s pray we all can focus on Him instead of us.
