Reading for today: Genesis 15:13-21 and Matthew 17:24-27
“Then He said to Abram: ‘Know certainly that your descendants will be strangers in a land that is not theirs, and will serve them…’” Genesis 15:13
God told Abram what would come to pass, and it did. When God says something will happen, it’s going to happen. I’m so thankful for John 14:2 where Jesus says He is going to prepare a place for us and will come back for us. When life is hard and the world seems dark and cold, it’s wonderful to know that this world is not our home. Someday, Jesus is going to come back and receive us unto Himself. He said it will happen, and I believe it!
And when he had come into the house, Jesus anticipated him, saying, “What do you think, Simon? From whom do the kings of the earth take customs or taxes, from their sons or from strangers?”
Peter said to Him, “From strangers.” Jesus said to him, “Then the sons are free.” Matthew 17:25b,26
Isn’t it amazing that we have been set free for we are son’s and daughter’s of the King of kings!
It still blows me away everytime I think about the great sacrifice of love, mercy and grace that was shown towards me, a simple & prideful sinner by my dear sweet Lord Jesus Christ. As the world looks upon us as captives of our faith, we have been given a gleaming light of truth through God’s Word which burns deep within our souls that we may see and live in the freedom given to each of us daily. May we live and breath the love of Christ on all those He places in our path this day and each day following.
Praise You Lord Jesus, Praise you Abba Father, for I was once blind, but now I see!!
